Palestine Protest at the University of Mississippi

On May 2nd, 2024, a coalition of University of Mississippi students gathered to form a protest fighting for Palestinian liberation. Initially, they gathered at the Gertrude C. Ford Ole Miss Student Union, silently holding signs that demostrated their support for Palestine. They soon advanced to the University of Mississippi Quad, which attracted hundreds of onlookers - many of which taunted in opposition. While police surveilled the event to prevent violence from occuring, many protesters were heckled by counter-protesters, and the event quickly spread and made national headlines. Despite the unanticipated counter-protest, the coalition, to this day, continues to stand in solidarity with Palestinians.
